Holiday Pounding begins

Throughout November and into December, we will collect nonperishable food items for the Amherst Survival Center. This annual "pounding" project helps provide families with all the "fixings" for a holiday meal.

Here is the shopping list:

  • Boxed potatoes
  • Stuffing mix
  • Cranberry sauce
  • Canned turkey gravy
  • Canned corn
  • Canned green beans
  • Corn bread mix
  • Dessert mix (brownie; or cake mix and frosting)

Bring one item each week or all of them at once. Go ahead and scoop up sale items when they appear. If you would prefer to make a monetary donation, you can write a check to the Leverett Congregational Church, noting that it is for the Amherst Survival Center. You can also donate a gift card to Stop and Shop or Big Y.  Bottom line: all donations will be welcome and gratefully accepted.

The donations will be boxed up and delivered before the Christmas holidays.
